Types of accents used for our film.
But then from watching snatch I found some accent that they use would be perfect for our opening scene:
SMIG: Turisk from snatch is a perfect fro the voice of Smig, i just think abit more crud and duller and it will be perfect for our main character as the accent brings out a strong and thuggish tone and makes the character and matches with his clothes and style. As I am playing smig I can do this kind of accent so we don't need to worries about miming it or looking for another which would of been hard for this type of character.
RICKY: For Ricky is a hard decision as we need his character to be intimidating but formal at the same time so we came up with the voice of formal but deep and aggressive, so a angry sort of tone is used for this action, this makes the character intimidating and commanding.
THOMPSON: This we found this accent very easy to sort out all we need is a butch and strong and arrogant cockny to make him look like a stereotype thug and outlaw. So who no other than Vinnie Jones accent, as Thompson is a part time drug dealer in our film role its perfect for what we are aiming for.
HUNTER: Looking at hunter we went risky with his accent because his character don't really resemble anyone and is not a good stereotype, as this character is big and immitdating to other we need a low and deep voice and a hint of cockny or gangsta type. We only thing we can link hunters voice with is from zombieland of the voice of woody harrelson or if the person whos acting cannot pull of the accent then we simply go for a deep and strong tone, not to over the top a formal and clear voice. Or we could be risky and go for the voice of 'Boris the Blade' but the accent of the tone may not match the character backgorund but that could be our last resort.
4 FINGER JONES: Does not have line remains quite this will bring out a character within not saying a word and keeps to himself.
So with these ideas of accent we now can think of a more visual idea and is easier to read to story out and sort out the lines for the scirpts.

Moodboard for our film
Sound effects or music for our film.
Our film is to do with gangstas so we need to consider that guns are fired, maybe explosions occur, and shouting is involved.
Now when me and Ian were looking at this type of activity its a kind of problem to us, as we want our film as successful as possible, the guns and explosion noises are easy to cover but the major task was do we need a hint of music towards it and will it be effective??
We could of used soundtracks today but due to copyright we cannot be allowed to represent in our film we had a major impact on what we chosen?
So we had to look at other various things, we first looked at films but action films as it gives us a more easier choice and idea of what music needs to played either during a fight scene or when a major dilemma occurs m, maybe a powerful classical or a heavy and effective sound from a guitar.
So looking at films we came across this which we think is good in some ways:
So from this clip we get these types of forms:
Right at the start we get the sound of 10 machines guns going off, so me and Ian now have a idea what impact and devices it gives off to make it effective, this type of action could be used anywhere really and the sound is not to loud and not to silent which is good for an example.
From 0.22 you can hear the footstep of running which indicates that a type of action is coming into place and then the music starts to come into play and sounds of impact.
SOUNDS OF IMPACT: Hearing the sound of impact on this film they sound the weapons are being swung at a fast and high pace, this shows the impact of the anger within the character and how much it could hurt or kill. Also it indicates movement and can be fighting with weapons or just hand to hand combat which helps us more towards finding the best outcome.
The sounds of hands swinging we may do it shows the force of the punch but it may not be realistic and go with our film, but as we want abit of over the top we could use it.
DO WE NEED A MUSIC TYPE FOR THIS FILM?: To be honest I dont think it we need it, i think a sudden rush of guns and sounds of impacts will fit perfect and clean spoken lines for a characters when fighting a good example of this is
So from this we can see the impact the weapons and gun shot surrounded can make a scene effective effective and successful, (ok there a hint of sound in the background) but the loudness of the impact covers over that, i say the louder the better.
Also when will smith dives and they use the effect of the bullet I think it's a brilliant effect of the bullet it shows the impact of a bullet and what it can do and also how the sound is transfered to this bullet makes it more effetive in ways of the impact and movement and the slow motion makes it whole idea, so if we can we might use this to slow the action and pase down and show how effective one character can be (maybe hunter or smig). (PS sorry for use of swear words and any things that harms your ears :P).
RESULTS: After me and Ian had a discussions about this in a lesson we came to a decision of just loud action, our film genre could use music but its not effective as a rush of action and lots of gun shots and sound, as our film is over the top action and gangsta we think its better just to have clean in your face loud action from start to end, just like the example of bad boys =).

Target Audience
When looking at this film we saw that it has a balance between comedy and violent action and this film was rated as a 15.
Looking at the Godfather this fil has a high level of violence and lots of drama which will be aimed at a higher age auidience and was given the rating 18.
This Film Scarface is very similar to the godfather film for high levels of violence it also has some catchy lines which makes the film effective this film was also given the age rating 18.
Although all 3 of these films are of the same genre they will all atract different audiences, for example snatch will attract a younger audience because of its slight comical aspect, and the age range is for 15 year olds so will be aimed at 15 year olds plus.
The Godfather will be aimed at people who like old fasioned violent movies set in the past, and also will like the idea of the Mafia storylines. This film being an 18 shows that it is aimed at a higher age range maybe be of 20 plus.
Scarface is aimed at people who like a film with action, drama and no messing around. Scarface is like this because it cut straight to the chase and you no were you are in the film! This like the godather is an 18 and will be aimed at 20 plus.

Audience Feedback on Pitches:
Looking through the feedback sheets me an Ian found out these issues:
- Ian has been suggested to do Smig due to his appearance
- Don't name the place lutterworth
- Smig doesn't sound realistic due to his name
These are the issues we encountered and what they need to sorted about it, me and Ian came up with these solutions:
Smig in our eyes is a unpredicted character on the acting terms so we have to take this into consideration. So what we decided to do is for me and Ian and me and maybe James act out one scene being the character Smig and then looking back on the errors and see what people think, the problem we think is that if Ian is Smig who is going to be Hunter has he is a big and intimidating character which I think is perfect for Ian.
The second is very easy to fix up all we need to do is to descripe and my by find a gang slang term of the street / town for e.g thug ville or gangstas path etc. So me and Ian need to upload some scene picture and take it from there.
And the last one I like is because people have fallen into our kind of trap, the reason why we called the main character Smig because it is a sort and slick and go under a nickname and sounds thuggish aswel. Also our genre is like snatch action smooth and silk acting and unpredictable character which why Smig is a good name as its unusal and confusing which grabs people attension and is like "who Smig and what is Smig" which me and Ian think is a good technique. Maybe we could say Steve the Smig but then it like.
But overall we are please with these mistake encounters that now we have errors and we can produce them to make them even better and makes the film more successful.

3 colour scheme
The reason why we have come with a 3 colour scheme is that the auidence can enjoy the film in the best quailty as possible there not to much colour to disturb the picture (this may sound very indepth but it works!).
We did look at a action film named hero and this clip shows a contrast in colour which we thought was a pretty good idea at start:
In the 1st minute we see to good guys fight of a intire army, but we the colour scene of green, bright and easy to spot out, so what the director has done is put them in light colours so when they are in the fighting scene they stand out to a whole crowd and is more visible to see where the fighting is and the more "impact factor" upon it.
Then at 1:00 a very cleaver and epic setting is used green sheets are used for this fight scene, this could relate to the curtrual as china is a very mstical place and is full of wonder which this effect in the film relates and works very well in this type of film. Also the costume that the good guy has on gives him a upper advantage for camoflarsh and makes the film more affective and exciting due to tense action, also the film is over the top fighting which shows off a even more in depth example towards our final design as we want a hint of over the top action.
But then when we where looking at our type of film there to muchs colours going on and as ours is a gangsta type of film we needed a grimey and dull setting but a hint of over the top - which red is a bright colour and is the symbol of blood (also is a common colour).
So the colours that I will think work and Ian has agreed on is blue, black, and red.
The resason why we choosed these colours are:
Light beach Blue: It's a formal but kind of bright / dull look, its a sort of calm and bland hint and it most effective for the charater ricky and also the sky (daylight). It could also be used as a twist someone may look nice and formal in a blue t shirts but on the inside of them they could be part of a gang which ricky is involved in.
Black: Dark and dull brings out the rough side and atmosphere, perfect use for the clothes on hunter, smig, and four finger jones. Also Black is the color of objects that do not emit or reflect light in any part of the visible spectrum; they absorb all such frequencies of light so the picture for the setting will be easy to watch upon. Also it could bring outs the phyical side and rough stereotypes which we need. Also it brings out posh cars and guns which is perfect for our film e.g. James bond.
Red: Brings out the loudness of the film, loud and in your face, red is a bright colour and is easy to use in this type of film. It resembles blood, anger, crazyness, fire etc. Also Red is any of a number of similar colors evoked by light consisting predominantly of the longest wavelengths of light discernible by the human eye. So what it does is out goes all the colurs and makes you see the impact from such things as blood splatters and explosions which i said blends well and effective with our film.
So from this we can aim at the main colours to make our scene alot more easier and also back-ups some question on why we choose this kind of setting.
People who are playing the cast.
James Buckley - Ricky and Thomson - the team. James has a good use of drama as he does A levels so we chosen him for the off putting character as we called because we know he can pull it off, as he has short cut hair another physical build and a old typed thug looking face he looks perfect for Thomson. Also James as he my friend has many style so if we put a formal outlook on Ricky on him in sure we can pull him off to.
Ryan Harrison - Four finger Jones - Why because he small slim and can look quick the same role as this character in the film, he might not has a good acting role but facial expressions a one line sentences are only needed for this character and as he has ginger hair ginger so it good for this type of character as hes gangsta based so the hair has to be formal or crazy.
Kieran Kirby - Hunter - Hunter we need as a small typed but built character, he has a dangerous face and sharp sentences which stings the audience most of the time, give full eye contact like a hawk and waits for his pray and leaves, and this is why we think Kieran is good for this enrolment.
Character Roles
Main Character- SMIG, he will be wearing a Long black coat and act in a suspicious manner, but this is because of his circumstances. He will be carrying a briefcase with Documents inside known by many to be of great importance and value. He feels great pressure carrying the briefcase and even fears for his life.
RICKY- Twisted past as he used to be a drug dealer, but now is will act as the the one with the clean and sharp appearence but will take no nonsense and will be strict if needed to be. He will play the role of the interrogator. He will be dressed in a formal manor e.g white shirt maybe blue, with jeans and old fashioned shoes, being dressed like this will help with his clean and sharp appearance.
THOMSON- Head of "The Team" a Ruthless gang, Arrogant personality, and will stop at nothing to to get what he wants which in the instance is the briefcase. He will be wearing a leather jacket and dark jeans, with boots.
HUNTER- He will be quit and cleaver, and keep himself to himself, but as all the characters will get his opinion across if needed, he will be dressed formally but as if in disguise. He and his partner will play a large part in the successfulness of the "The Team"
FOUR FINGER JONES- The assistant to Hunter, and is an opposite to Hunter because he is a bit of a psycho and big fan of violence. will be wearing glasses, untidy hair, and a typical gangster Jacket.

Lighting effects camera angles and acting for our scenes.
Looking at our film editing we need to consider the lighting effects for our scenes.
Now the start scene is 2 actors in one room, Smig has been pulled in to have an interview with a police officer, so really looking in lighting terms we need a dull room (maybe blue as the colour of the walls to represent a typical crime scene investigation). The lighting has to remain dull at all times to keep the atmosphere effective and useful. Or maybe a dull background and the light shining on the actors to make them visible to the audience
A perfect example is from blade 3 when he taken in for the mirders of vampires and humans.
(This clip will be used to analyisis all of the effect).
So looking at the lighting effects on this clip from blade the room is birght white which makes then characters stand out and visible to see. The light almost shines onto the characters to adds an effect of them talking, looking at it maybe 3 or 4 light have been used for this kind of effect and atmosphere. Also shadows in the background are used to to balanced type of atmosphere that only these characters are here and no one else.
CAMERA SHOTS:
Soon as the scene starts a birdseye view is used, this shows where it is and how big the room is and where trhe villain is put into place. (Looking at the room its a varible size for good camera angles).
Also the camera is twisting into the villians face which adds more suspension and more of an atmosphere on the character.
Then a staright reverse shot is used and mostly throughout this scene, its the most easiest and most successful way of really doing this type of scene, also closes up and zooms in are used to describe the emotions of the characters, if it zooming in something has been said that rattles the villians, and if it zooms out maybe the interview is calm and understanding (but thats boring!).
Also a low angle is used on the investigators to show that its thier room and their interviewing this villain weather he likes it or not, this gives power to the these characters and can use and show of power to find out the message of the scene.
ACTING IDEAS:
Looking at the acting perspective of this clip its snaps straight into action, a sudden clap of hand is kind of a signature to start the scene and wake up the atmosphere. The clap of hand shows a slight sudden reaction to the character and audience in a way to pay attention which could be useful for our project maybe.
Also full eye contact is used when all character are talking to one another but sometimes the villian,
Looking around 1:00 minute a overview shot is used, the villian is there but also you see the inspectors hand moving, this shows a coversation between these two characters and its important to listen to it as it tells the main parts of the storys this could work for our 1st scene.
The light though is mostly foucused on the close up of these tow characters so what i does is draws the audience to listen and watch these character as they are telling the story line or something important is being said, there's no point of taking the light of these people or the audience will not pay as much attension on whats being said as you cannot see them clear which we will use for our flim.
This idea will only work for the interigation part of the scene so in the 2 part is daytime so really we don't need to worrie about the effects of lighting, just the colour or clothes and mis en scene blend and stand out.
So from this research we have now found how we encounter problem if we do come across lighting effect issues and how to focus the camera in different ways to interest audiences by using lighting. (Maybe we could even change the colour for more dramatic effect).
An open example of a good film opening for our project.
Looking through the opening scene of snatch the storyline is pretty much the same as ours, all of the characters within the film are routing for the dimond thats worth 24 carrots gold, with our film Smig has a important breifcase with something inside it with what everyone wants. Also looking at the body language and gesters its perfect to take ideas from and to generate withing our acting for the scene, maybe editing it we could pause frame and change the quilty of the picture maybe a added different background using effects such as colour contrast and the names of the characters or a pop arty effect which snatch has used and then role on the clip, with this affect it shows us the charater, the type of flim its going to be (formal / informal) and also maybe a effect on the price procession.
We could do about 20 seconds or maybe 30 off this effect and maybe do a following edit as they use in hollywood editing, this could make the film effective and more successful of telling the story.
Also the costumes that they wear is perfect for what we want to use and represent our styles of charaters, a typical long coat, thug looking, long and posh shoes, ties, and old fashioned jeans. Looking at "turisk" its an perfect element to make our character "smig" to look like and stereotyping him in the easiest way as possible.
Also looking at the diamond it says snatch on it, now the text has a basic meaning "snatch this diamond and be rich" which we could use on the breif case, maybe a pause shot and zoom into the breifcase and look for a definition of it but make it look like the story.
Our setting is really the same as snatchs, streets and runned down places so there no much to really cover and get ideas from, only the lighting is all we need which is in the other decription.
Overall this is an basic mind map of a good start to our project and using the 1st scene we have found a lot of ideas from it.

Weapons and Gadgets Used In Action Films
The type of weapons used in action films obviously vary depending on what type of action is being portrayed in the film.
Batman
In the Batman films they use very unusual weapons and are weapons that help them selves instead of hurting their enemies, such as the Baterang which is just a simple coiled rope attached to the bat symbol use to save himself from fall and to swing away from enemies, this would be found attached to his suit, The suit has also carried on different occasions a re-breather device, flash and gas grenades, explosives and a detonator, lockpicks, a signaling device for the Batmobile, electronic surveillance equipment (including video camera and monitor), a forensic kit for gathering crime scene evidence, a medical kit, a small toolkit, a cache of money and, in early incarnations, a pistol in a holster. Weapons like this me and Dan will not be able to use because of time and what is available to use and money!
